The 11th Annual Lapeer Regional Medical Center Foundation Charity Golf Classic is in the books and was a huge success. The outing, which once again this year benefitted the LRMC Cancer Center Fund, grossed more than $156,000. The event was held June 22 at two courses – Devil’s Ridge Golf Club and Metamora Country Club.
“It was an outstanding day of golf, food and fun . . . and it was all for a great cause,” said LRMC President and CEO Bart Buxton. “I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the continued spirit of giving and support that our friends in the community have shown in support of our Cancer Center Programs.
“With the growth of our cancer services, Lapeer-area residents no longer have to leave the community to get high quality, compassionate cancer services,” he added. “We have the finest physicians, the latest, greatest technology and a world-class cancer center right here in Lapeer to provide the very world-class treatment for patients battling cancer.”
More than 240 golfers took part in the event which also featured a Dinner and Awards Banquet and the traditional Silent Auction.
