Volunteers Offer Care and Support
Lapeer Regional Medical Center volunteers offer a caring word and support for patients, visitors and hospital staff.
There are over 100 volunteers at the hospital who contribute more than 20,000 hours of service to the hospital. These volunteers work in the following areas:
Gift Shop
The hospital’s Gift Shop offers an assortment of gifts, snacks, and cards to make anyone’s day sunnier. Most Gift Shop staff work morning or afternoon one day a week. Proceeds from the Gift Shop are used to purchase patient care equipment.

Patient Escort
Visitors and patients often require assistance getting to and from areas of the hospital, either because of physical condition or unfamiliarity with the location of services within the building. These volunteers reduce anxiety by helping patients find their way and obtain needed information.
Surgery Waiting
Unlike Patient Escort, these volunteers remain at their post so that family members and other loved ones can receive information about a patient having surgery. The Surgery Waiting volunteer ensures that the needs of visitors are met.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers also work in
patient care and support service areas of the hospital. The hospital’s Birth
Center, Medical/Surgical nursing units, Cancer Information Center, and
Transitional Care Unit all utilize volunteers.

To volunteer at the hospital, call (810) 667-5669.
